A 5.5 mile circular walk taking in the history, wildlife and geology of Lindisfarne.

This is a half-day experience which takes place when the tide cuts off Holy Island from the mainland; a time when it is more tranquil and atmospheric.

We'll walk on sandy beaches and amongst the dunes, taking in an ancient quarry and the lime kilns that reflect the industrial heritage of the island. There will be a lunch stop - please bring your own refreshments.

Holy Island is a popular destination but most visitors don't get to experience the "hidden delights" of the place. Rocky shore, quiet sandy coves, ever-shifting sand dunes.
